Account & Data Deletion

This page explains how to delete your UGY account and the personal data associated with it. The data controller is Tuncan Technology & Consulting DOO (Podgorica, Montenegro). Details of what we collect are in the Privacy Policy.

1. Delete your account in the app (immediate)

Open UGY → Profile tab → Delete Account & Data and confirm. Deletion runs server-side and takes effect immediately: your account can no longer be signed into and the associated personal data is erased from our servers, as described in section 3.

2. Delete without the app (web request)

If you no longer have the app installed, you do not need to reinstall it. Email privacy@ugy.app with the subject “Delete my account”, sent from the email address associated with your UGY account. We may reply to verify your identity before completing the deletion. We complete web-requested deletions within 30 days and confirm by email once done.

3. What is deleted, and what may be kept

• Deleted: your account and sign-in identity, display name, email, username, bio, profile photo, date of birth, event interests, app language, city selection and location preference, the city derived from your device location, permission settings, notification settings, the time you last opened the app and your time zone, RSVPs, consent records, the records of which version of our legal documents you were shown, push notification token (and, on Android, the Firebase Cloud Messaging registration token), the history of automatic notifications we sent you, the feedback you sent from the app, and any waitlist sign-up you made in the app.
• Kept by our service providers: crash and error diagnostics (Sentry), product analytics data (PostHog), and notification and email delivery records (Expo, Apple, Google Firebase Cloud Messaging, Resend) are not deleted automatically when you delete your account. They are kept for the retention period set in each provider’s systems.
• May be retained: copies of feedback you sent from the app in our issue tracker (Jira) and in summary emails to our team; exports of waitlist sign-ups taken to send launch announcements; any sign-up to the waitlist on the ugy.app website, which is separate from your app account (email us to remove it); short-lived technical records used to deliver notifications and limit email sending, which are deleted automatically soon afterwards; and, for the minimum period necessary, data we must keep by law or for legitimate security/fraud-prevention reasons, after which it is deleted.
